My Approach to Coaching

I believe coaching is a partnership. My role is not to give you answers, but to join you in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to unlock your own potential. We'll work together to untangle what's holding you back, explore new perspectives, and build a clear, actionable path toward your goals.

As one client put it:

‘Iain brings empathy and understanding whilst being independent and curious as to what solutions you will find through coaching.’

My goal is to provide the support and structure you need to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you truly want to be.

Who I Work With

I've had the privilege of coaching a diverse range of clients from all walks of life—from military personnel transitioning to civilian life and factory workers, to third-sector employees, business leaders, and students. Whether working one-on-one or facilitating workshops, I am committed to helping my clients grow through change, both personally and professionally.

My Story.

Hi, I’m Iain Sutherland, a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation. For more than two decades, my life's work has revolved around one simple thing: helping people navigate change and move forward.

My path to coaching hasn't been a straight line. I started with a degree in Agriculture, but a desire to work more closely with people led me to study Practical Theology. This began a 20-year journey helping individuals and leaders in a parish context, listening to their challenges and supporting them through life's complexities.

Through this work, I discovered my passion for creating a space where people could find their own solutions. I saw the power of asking thoughtful questions and truly listening, and I knew I wanted to make this my central focus. This led me to pursue a formal career in coaching, and I’ve never looked back.
